How the Los Angeles Dodgers Tell their Stories Through Videos and Music

Los Angeles Dodgers

The World Series dust has settled, and the Los Angeles Dodgers (hopefully) have recovered from the parade earlier this month. thirty-years of waiting happens to create a bit of excitement for a city like Los Angeles. 2,430 games were played during the 2024 MLB season, and the Dodgers alone played 162 games to secure their championship. Countless recap videos, behind-the-scenes footage, interviews, highlights, and everything in between were posted every step of the way to tell the stories that let to their World Series success. As one can imagine, that requires quite a bit of music.

For example, the team's Road to the World Series documents their post season journey from the National League Division Series in September against The San Diego Padres to the NLCS against the New York Mets, and finally to the World Series against The New York Yankees. The masterful synchronization between compelling Dodgers footage and well-made music elevated the story from a long highlight reel to an emotional and powerful chronicle of the team's road to greatness. It's must-watch content for any sports fan.

Going Anime

In December 2023, the Dodgers video production team took a step outside of the typical Rock/Country/Hip-Hop box around this time last year for Shohei Ohtani’s welcome video.

The result was a perfect marriage of video and music that pays tribute to this one-of-a-kind player's greatness and roots.

The track “Behind You” by Weilun Chen & Junichi Sasaki from the Stacks to Tracks library allowed the Dodgers content team to really lean into Shohei’s home country of Japan. “Behind You” drove the fast paced anime edit welcoming the icon to LA. A clear sign that production music doesn’t always have to fit the mold (or sound like elevator music).
